This question is geared more toward those that gay bash, but I would love comments from the community.
So I sit here and watch the news and hear and see child molestors all over the country, getting arrested and being convicted. Why are we as homosxuals, critized and banned from normal citizen rights? I'm pretty sure that child molestors after they get out of jail are still able to get married. So what exactley are we doing that is so illeagal? I just love guys, is that such a crime. Honestly I don't like guys my age or even younger.

My point is, should we as homosexual human beings, receive the same rights as other people until we misuse or do something that is illegal? Would this not make more sense. Why are we so looked down on? We didn't do anything. So why do we deserve this kind of reticule? it seems like Child molestors get of better than we do. So they can't vote, they are still able to love. I don't think it's fair. Am I far off from the truth? Please help my naivety.

All people, gay or not gay, should have protection from crimes by law and have no fear unless they are /become guilty of crime.
Only The wrong who harm others should be punished for it, that means HARM, it does not mean , not fit in with what you think is correct!
Live and let live.

Can i just add, that my best friend, who i had so much fun times with, when i worked with him, i one day bought him home for a drink, it was a very hot day and we had been very busy, anyways, the 3 children i had ,at the time, were only small, they were playing with my friend, chucking teddy bears across the room for each other to catch, having loads of fun, when my husband came in and told the kids to go up to rooms, i thought they had done something wrong.
After my friend left, my husband yelled at me, said wtf you bringing that child molester in too my house for, then asked did i not care for my children!

well...i left that husband, after he had to many affairs, beat me, saw prostitutes , spent all our money on drugs while we had no food and mentally intimidated the children, and i kept my good good gay friend!

just wanted to say that :)

Should and will are, obviously, far different. We, as a society, are currently (wrongfully) trained to be intolerant of your situation. Even so, check history. You are FAR better off now than you have been in the past. You can at least come forward and admit to it without (in most cases) suffering physical abuse and extreme harassment for it at your job, school, etc. Not that very long ago (even I can remember that far back), it was not so. It is hard to be patient for the things that "should" be rightfully yours, but that is the only answer -- to keep working to make the laws for you more fair.

As to the issue of child molestors -- it is only recently, again, that this has become considered such an abomination and to be so openly addressed and prosecuted. In time, the laws there will also catch up to the reality as it "should" be, hopefully.

No, I don't think you're far from the truth at all. My motto is live and let live. What you or anyone else does in the privacy of their home is none of my business. I couldn't care less what anyone else does behind closed doors. Love is something to be cherished, be it male/female, male/male, or female/female.

As for child molesters........here is my solution for those monsters. The government needs to build a robot that would be height, weight, size proportionate as a man would be to a child. The robot would then be programed to do the same thing to the man as the man did to the child!

Well, your right. Child molestors should be banned from everything. BUT this is the way the world works right now. Maybe some day gays will have more rights. Your still able to love no matter what~ Nobody can stop you from that.

Forget what I said, I agree with the guy a few posts below. Child Molestors don't get more rights then Gay people. They are watched so closely, and thats the way it should be.

Can you live where you want to live yes. If you decied to adopt a child or date some one with children will child services take your child away. When you move into a neighborhood to you have to register yourself as a Homosexual or do you just pay the rent and move in. Your theory is flawed.

I am not gay so I do not know the answers to this. Please be patient with my comments.

Are you as a Homosexual not allowed to live with who you want? Are you not allowed to have sex with who you want? Are you not allowed to list whom ever you want as your beneficiary? What does a piece of paper that says you are married really do?

In many states, especially those with Jessica's law, The molester is listed in the sex offender database. He is not allowed to live where he wants. He is not allowed to live with who he wants. He is not allowed to be near children. If he is to get married and have children many of these kids are taken by child services.

However, the molesters are using the same argument that the homosexuals are using "I was born this way" and should not be punished for my sexual desire for children. It does make a lot of uneducated people feel that molesters and homosexuals are one in the same.

In the hospital your partner is allowed to visit you. And you can authorize the Dr. to release any information about you to anyone. So I really do not understand the complaint. My wife has her own insurance from her employer so she is not on my policy. It is a lot cheaper that way.

i hope people won't see this as controversial, but why shouldn't child molesters be able to marry someone (of an appropriate age, of course)? if they don't, they'll just have even more sexual tension to repress, making it even more likely for them to misdirect this tension in ways that grievously harm children. i'm not saying it's society's fault that these people do what they do, but regressed offenders (people whose primary attraction is to adults like themselves) often offend children because they can't find an adult to copulate with (they might be rejected frequently, or in some cases, have a mental disorder such as retardation that makes them less attractive to others). restricting all offenders from marriage, including ones who might otherwise later find an age-appropriate partner, is a bad idea for obvious reasons. of course, there are other things society could do, like give them drugs to induce impotency, chemical castration, or permanent imprisonmnet; but as the penal system doesn't often apply these punishments, barring from marriage alone would not do anything constructive, and as i see it, could exacerbate the deviancy.

Love you are so spot on, I could never have phrased that question better. There was a programme on telly last nite about a pastor that hated gays so much he burnt down other churches, is that christian. Why do rapists and people that kill, and people that hurt old people, peado's get away with a slap on the the hand but gays of whatever persuasion get stoned by hate every day of their lives. I honestly think we are the most right thinking, loving people of the old and young and each other than so called normal people.

Um, actually ms. lulu --> child molestors = neither. Pedophilia is it's own sexuality in the sense of what a pedophiliac is attracted to. Heterosexuals and Homosexuals are both attracted to adults, and also have consenting relationships. And there is no "opposite" sex. Sexes aren't innately opposite. They are different or "other". People need to stop refering to the opposite sex. If a woman's smart a man's dumb? If a man is strong a woman's weak. Opposite oversimplifies.

You can't compare child molesters and gay people because molesters are doing it to kids who don't have a choice. Ad least gays are doing it with other adults. Gays should have human rights but they shouldn't expect everyone to except their lifestyle. Homosexuality is wrong and the sexual aspect is against nature but they are human beings too.
