Something special to learn the days of the months and the planets??
Mine was:
30 days has September. April June and November. All the rest have 31, except the second month alone, in which we 28 assign and Leap Yeear gives it 29!
For the Planets..an obcession for me---
The first letter in each word was for a planet and their order: My Very Eager Mother Just Sleeps Until Noon Period (mercury, venus,earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranius, neptune, pluto)
ok kids that is the lesson for today...what is yours??

I learned those too! Well, it was, "My very eager mother just sent us nine pizzas", but what do they teach now that Pluto is no longer a planet???
I before E except after C or when sounding as A as in neighbor or weigh.
Do I get an A+ 100 teacher???

We also had the 30 day has September rhyme but nothing for the planets though. We were clearly cheated.

Yes Dharma, I remember the rhyme for the months, but I've never heard the planet one before. For my electronics course we had to remember resistor color codes, Black, Brown, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Grey, White, and we used "Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly"

I just wonder what the new saying for the planets will be now that Pluto has been... well, Plutoed!
I never heard the one for the months but it sure will help me out! Ha ha!

yeah we had a song for the planets that went....
mercury and venus earth and mars flying in their orbit 'round the stars..jupiter and saturn what a view..uranus neptune and pluto tooooooooo.............

in math class we had to remember the order of operations so we said Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally. (parenthesis, exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract.)
