Not required, Our freedom of our country says our choice if you dont want to say the pledge of allegience in school YOU DONT have to. no law requires you to and being forced to is against the American way.

No, it's not mandatory.

For one thing, I don't think the state has the right to make you take a Federal pledge.

Additionally, a pledge is something you offer - no one can require you to pledge your allegiance to anyone or anything, unless you give it freely.

They can provide a time and place for you to offer this pledge, but that's about it.

What's the problem?

Had it too good here? Do you take your liberty for granted because all you have known is anything but hardship?

You should be grateful to have the school in the first place.

I'll bet you live near Berkeley or have been raised by Liberals. Either way, if you aren't happy pledging allegiance to this country, I'd be very happy if you found another country to live in.

it should be a requirement, how can you gain respect for you own country if you dont know the pledge? my mother still remebers the anthem of her country (Barbados) and she has been in America since the 70s

It SHOULD be a requirement if it isn't already.
