For example I've wandered out close to a mile at Birch Bay in Washington state. A fine black sand beach that at low tide is a field of warmth with tiny mound islands and warm water flowing here and there. I understand the average tide differential is around 25ft... The world's highest tides have been recorded at the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia. The tide has been measured at 16.8 meters (55 feet).

Bay of Fundy in Eastern Canada beats that. It does 40 feet from high to low tide.
