JaMarcus Russel of LSU, he will be the first pick of the draft because he has truly rare size and bulk for the position. He might have the strongest arm in all of football (college or pro) and can make all the throws...An outstanding natural athlete...Very powerful and a load to bring down...He is mobile enough to avoid pressure and can hurt defenses with his feet...Does a superb job of keeping his eyes downfield...Has a very quick release...Can throw well on the run...A leader with good poise and composure...Got better every season and is still improving. AND OAKLAND REALLY REALLY NEEDS A QB!!

I can see the Raiders signing David Carr and drafting Calvin Johnson. Al Davis doesn't like drafting quarterbacks in the first round. Add that with the fact that Calvin Johnson is the best player in this draft and voila there you have it.

As a Broncos fan, I pray the Raiders will draft Brady Quinn over JaMarcus Russell. Quinn is doomed against NFL defenses.

they should trade down and draft joe thomas, but they will draft jamarcus russel because of his size, and abilties to lead a team to a championship. he is young and will be able to escape the pocket better then what andrew walters, and aaron brooks can. I dont believe carr will go the raiders b/c the dolphins or vikings will offer more money and a better chance of winning.

JaMarcus Russell WILL be because of all the media hype...Brady Quinn SHOULD be because he is the best QB in the draft...unless they trade for a QB...Then they are planning to draft Calvin Johnson...

I hope the Radiers do draft Russel because he is the most over-rated player in the draft. He is going to be a bust just like Ryan Leaf.

Russell, the Raiders need a QB that can run. Nobody was safe behind that o-line last year. They definatly DO NOT need another WR.

Calvin Johnson if The Raiders take Carr from FA. But if that doesnt happen, then it has to be Russell. They wont get a low profile player like Joe THomas even if they need him. They'll get a high profile player that has their name all over the media and is getting special attention. Johnson and Russell fits that classification quite clearly.
