the difference is encroachment is the defensive player actually touching an offensive player. offsides is when the defensive player is in the neutral zone or past the neutral zone when the ball is snapped. (note: notice the word WHEN the ball is snapped, meaning the defensive play can go back to his side of the ball and not be penalized if he gets back before the ball is snapped)

the neutral zone (also called no man's land) when no one is suppose to be (except for the center's hand). it is about a foot around the line of scrimmage (the place the football is placed)

Super G is wrong, because there is no offsides for an offensive player, it is a false start, which is penalized diffrently from an offsides.

They are basically the same, but with encroachment there is contact made by the defese upon an offensive player. Offsides can occur simply from being across the line of scrimmage at the snap of the ball.

Encroachment is called when a member of the defense moves across the line of scrimmage, before the snap, and touches an offensive player.

Offsides is called when a member of either team is lined up in the neutral zone at the snap of the ball.

Both are 5 yard penalties.

Encroachment is if a defensive player touches an offensive player before the play starts, offsides is if a defensive player crosses the line of scrimmage before the play starts AND the play starts before he gets back across the line of scrimmage.

encroachment means that a player is offsides but tries to get back to his side of the line of scrimmage but makes contact
offsides seems to be that the player is in the neutral line or on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage when the football is snapped

The big difference is the line of scrimmage is about a foot wide. It is the neutral zone. Encroachment is going into the neutral zone. Of sides is going through the neutral zone and into the other teams side.
