I think it is ridiculous. My buddy's family farm that had lasted for generations got screwed up because a few of the men had daughters and decided to give them property and once they got married, their husband's sold it to other people for a profit and moved. If the property was passed down to the sons as it should be then when women marry, they will get to live on their husband's property and the property could always be in the hands of the family.

i agree with you sweetie!
I think all the property should go to the sons or if there are no sons to the daughters' husbands.
You're so smart!

It is ridiculous that you believe that the females screwed this up. The U.S. government paid farmers to not plant their crops so the third world countries would have a source of income (we get the crops via imports). If the daughters sold the property, it was theirs to sell. Farm land without crop/livestock no longer requires a farmer! They probably made a hefty profit and used it to survive on instead of sitting on hundreds of acres with no crops to tend to.

Wow. How 1800's.

Husband can't sell his wife's property in this decade; wife has to sign the deed and convey.
