It is normal to experience quickening (feeling the baby's first movements) as late as the 24th week with your first child.

ahhh fear nothing! often one will not feel movement until 20 weeks or even a wee bit longer.. as long as your doctor says everything is o.k, then just try to be patient. Soon enough your baby will be keeping you up for hours at end kicking or with hiccups! Some babies sleep a lot during the day while you are active and move more during the night while you are asleep.

Some women feel it early on, some feel it later on. I am in my second pregnancy and I could feel this one by 17 weeks. I didn't feel my first until between 20 and 22 weeks. Don't fret and maybe you should feel a little lucky! It's really cool to feel them move and all, but after a while it can get a bit tiresome to always be kicked in places where you don't want to be kicked. And trust me, by the time you are 9 months pregnant with a full grown newborn infant kicking you in there, you will want it OUT!
If everything seems fine with the ultrasound and your other ob appointments, you have nothing to worry about!

The movements aren't large and obvious at first. You may have felt it and not known. They feel like gas (which you probably get all the time since you're pregnant) or just a nervous tummy.

if its a first baby apparently is normal to start feeling movement between 18 and 22 weeks when you do start to feel it is a bit like popping ( i just thought it was wind at first!) shouldnt start to worry yet if there was a prob he wouldnt be moving on the scan- my friend was 34 weeks before she felt her baby move and perfectly healthy baby just had been sitting the wrong way round for her to feel him.

Depends on your size I am small I felt mine at 16 weeks but I have a friend who is heavier and she didn't feel anything until 24 weeks. You may just not know what you are feeling if you are a first time mom.

This is perfectly fine. The baby is still pretty small, and especially if this is your first child - you may have felt something before now and just passed it off as gas or your stomach.
