Just extra-comfy jamas and all the stuff for the baby! I had 2 sections and packed WAAAYYY too much (well, I was in the hospital already, so my mom packed way too much...) for my 1st. With my second the only things I brought were my jamas and robe, comfy BIG underwear, slippers, CHAPSTICK, the baby's clothes, and good smelling bodywash & stuff to make me feel human (toothbrush, hair ties, lotion-lots of lotion, etc.)! OH! And a cushion for under your behind... I have a bony butt, so the bed hurt to sit in. My hubby just got me one of those chair pads that tie onto the back of a dining chair and it worked great!
For the BIG undies... Victoria's Secret makes some that are awesome for pulling over your incision and to hold your "loose" tummy in... they're microfiber and they are the biggest things you'll ever set eyes on, but they're the most comfy because you have room for the big pad you have to use and the pad you'll put on the incision, plus room to pull them up to support your tummy. Ask the gals at Vicki's about them.
My first section I was in the hospital for 4 days. My second, I got the Dr. to let me go home 2 days early... :)
*****I don't know why the other gal would say you will be away from dad & baby during recovery... I never have been. Even with all the complications I had with my first c-section!! BAD Information... :(

I had a c-section with my first child that turned out well. The healing procces went just fine but I was kept in the hospital four nights and five days. Any comfy pajamas and slippers, lip balm, personal items and most importantly very loose clothing to go home in. As you know you wont want anything rubbing against your incision site. Good luck!

Take a loofah to get off the iodine, a "rice pack" for the pain (works like a heating pad--I got mine at the hospital. Bed,bath and beyond and places like that will sell it!), and pajamas that give you access for breastfeeding if applicable, but do not cause any friction near incision. I bought a beautiful nightgown from a maternity store and just flashed the doctors when needed. :-) Good luck!

After my c-section I was glad I had comfy socks from home to wear because at some point the nurses wanted me to get up and "walk the halls" as part of my slow recovery.
You will be in recovery (apart from dad and baby) for several hours right after the birth while your epidural and the numbness wears off. If you don't fall asleep you might be pretty bored so you might want something (music, headphones, etc) for that time.
Your hospital stay will be longer as compared to a normal delivery so bring extras of whatever you would normally pack (snacks, water, books, camera batteries).
Good luck!
