Why most of women dont understand or appreciate the value of vintage and classic cars, like if you want to restore one at home and your wife is daily complaining abut it beaing around and asking you to get rid of it and telling you instead of wasting money on your project buy a new car? why they dont understand for example the diffrence between an old great classic pontiac 1970 firebird and a new 2007 Toyota Yaris? my wife openion is the Yaris worth the money you pay and is the real car and the Firebird is a piece of junk, I wonder ???

I don't know, my wife's the same way. Ladies like fresh things like flowers and puppies and late model cars, maybe it has to do with their baby-making wiring?

I am a woman. I like (not love) old cars. I go with my husband to the vintage car shows (he only likes the 50's and 60's) and I enjoy looking at them.

But as you would loose interest if you were to listen to conversation on how to keep slugs and white spots off of her favorite roses, I do get bored.

My husband is currently housing a newest adventure a 1962 chrysler 300. ( I hope I have the year right). I call it the orange monster because at this time it is just a big ugly orange thing taking up space in my garage.

The reason we don't like these things is becasue it takes you away from "our time" and keeps the women holed up in the house to tend to cooking, cleaning and watching Tv. and then you wonder why we get grumpy and fat.

Instead of using money for dinner tickets, shows, plays, the ballet, and an occassional weekend resort, you are spending it on mufflers, hubcaps and computers for the car.

oh well.

catch ya when you walk past the rose bush.

All depends on the women.
Some women are more interested in vintage cars than men are. I think this is a personal preference not a gender preference.
Another thing is: Maybe it is not the car. Maybe she if feeling left out. Try to spend some special time with her doing something she enjoys. She might be more open to enjoying your hobby :)

I'm not one of them. I still morn the day my husband sold MY 55 Chevy Bel Air rag top, that was completely restored! I 'm now driving a beautiful 1985 T top 300 ZX. He's making noises about getting rid of it. See, the tide flows both ways. Don't put all women in the same boat.

I guess I'm not in the class of most women. When my father in-law was working on restoring his 49 MG-TC, I was in the garage getting greasey along with him. I only wished we had a place to garage his car when he passed away 5 years ago, but it went to a good home.

My dream car is a 55 T-Bird, the year I was born, but I need to wait for my ship to come in.

Maybe you should bring in the kind of income that is necessary for this hobby, before spending money you obviously don't have. Vintage cars are a rich man's game, and if you don't have it, you are out of your league..She's probably sick of it.
