Pretend it's a movie. What images (descriptions) are scary? Which words make you think that something bad is going to happen? (Read the end so you know what the bad thing is.)

Look at the language. Really slow down and look at it. Some words are not scary--"the," "man." But some words make us think that something really bad is coming.

In the future, I wouldn't put the page number in your question. It makes you look a little lazy.
