Viagra is a serious prescription, see the warning at the bottom… FDA ALERT [7/2005]:
A small number of men have lost eyesight in one eye some time after taking Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra. This type of vision loss is called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). NAION causes a sudden loss of eyesight because blood flow is blocked to the optic nerve.
We do not know at this time if Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra causes NAION. NAION also happens in men who do not take these medicines. People who have a higher chance for NAION include those who:
· have heart disease
· over 50 years old
· have diabetes
· have high blood pressure
· have high cholesterol
· smoke
· have certain eye problems
FDA has approved new labels for Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra to include information on possible eyesight loss (NAION).
Stop using Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra if you have a loss in your eyesight. Get medical help right away.

There is no generic for Viagra. Many insurance plans do not cover it, as it's not considered by them to be a medical necessity, so then it costs about $10 a pill. Some men can split the pills, making it $5 per use.

Most insurance plans cover Viagra with varying co-pays but refuse to cover female contraceptives. An unpopular double standard. Viagra doesn't have a generic yet. Check out your insurance coverage otherwise the cost is usually around 10 dollars a pill. Not everyone can safely use this drug. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/951224683?ltl=1175557459 Check out this petition to require insurance companies to pay for female contraception. Have a great day.

Many insurance plans only require a small copay. Call your insurance company to find out what your specific coverage on Viagra as well as generics would be.

Insurance plan gets nothing to do with Viagra because it just is a medicine with fee! Doctors only must prescribe Viagra and then you have to pay for getting it.

Generic Viagra Sildenafil Citrate pills you can find at very low prices starting from $55 .
Viagra Generic vs Brand
Though they are called "generic," these prescription drugs are expected to meet the same standards required of the innovator or brand name product.
What is the difference between a Generic and Name-Brand Drug?
A Name-Brand drug is marketed under a specific trade name by a pharmaceutical manufacturer. In most cases, Name-Brand drugs are still under patent protection, meaning the manufacturer is the sole source for the product but in many Countries around the world this is not the case and a generic alternative is readily available . A generic drug is made with the same active ingredients in the same dosage form as a brand name drug. The generic drug is therapeutically equivalent to the brand name drug but is sold under its chemical or "generic" name.
Are Generic Drugs as Effective as Name-Brand Drugs?
A generic drug contains the same active ingredients in the same dosage form as a brand name drug. The strength and purity of generic medications are strictly regulated. The FDA requires all generic manufacturers to demonstrate that a generic drug will have the same medical effect as its Name-Brand equivalent by measuring the rate and extent of drug absorption. The generic drug should treat your illness or condition with the same effectiveness and safety as its brand name equivalent. Generics have to meet the same rigorous requirements as Name-Brand drugs.
Are Generic Drugs as Safe as Name-Brand Drugs?
These generics have been used billions of times by millions of patients, demonstrating again that Name-Brand and generic name drug have the same effect in the body.
Are Generic Drugs Less Expensive than Name-Brand Drugs?
In most cases, YES. The cost of researching, developing and marketing a new drug- including the money spent advertising the product- are factored into the price of the branded drug. Generic manufacturers spend considerably less on development and promotion, and therefore can afford to sell their product for less money.
Is the More Expensive Name-Brand Drug of a Better Quality?
No, the quality is the same. Both have to meet the same rigorous requirements.

Many men suffer from erectile dysfunction (ED) -- the inability to achieve and sustain an erection long enough to have enjoyable and fulfilling sex. For a variety of reasons ED is most common in men over 45. The sex drive is often lowered even further in older men who are taking medications of various kinds.
Most of us assume the sex drive gradually diminishes as we get older, so we are prepared to accept ED as a natural condition. But the fact is, the inability for many men to sustain an erection may be more the result of treatable physical conditions rather than an actual loss of sex drive.
Until the early 1980s most people -- including most trained urologists -- assumed that ED was basically a mental or psychological problem. But in 1983 at a presentation to the American Urological Association, Dr. Gilbert M demonstrated that a penis could be made erect by injecting it with the drug cialis. In a public demonstration, he used his own penis to make the point.
Gil had discovered that the penis could be made erect by relaxing the normally constricted blood vessels leading into it. Once the blood vessels are relaxed, they let in more blood and the penis inflates something like a balloon to form an erection.
