I have a nice curvy lawn shape in my back yard and mulch all around it. There are 4 smaller trees that the landscaper put in but there are no plants......ideas to spruce it up this spread. The all mulch looking is getting boring.

Depends upon shade/light/sun but Hostas, Daylillies, Andromedia, Azalea, Candytuft and most perennials are always good selections. You are welcome to look at my gardens here for ideas. I have 220 rose bushes and almost every plant imaginable in my gardens, which, are also in my backyard. I hope this helps. Happy Gardening.

hosta's are good but snail sensitive.. how about some flowering shrubs? forsythia, or maybe hydrangea, and you can always try centaurea montana. always beautiful. herbs like thyme and oregano... plants like lavender... or jasmin or agapanthus... maybe even miscanthus sininsis gracillimus. That is a very very elegant grass that grows to about 1.5 meters high but doesnt walk away from you like bamboo does.. :)
