If I take your answers, I'm to believe it's ok that we are Still in Afganistan 6 yrs. later and that Al queda was not, nor ever has been in Iraq. We are taking over Iraq, and not just there to clean up after we took down a Dictator that even the Clinton admin said was a threat to our security.

Pakistani insurgance in Afghanistan.
Iranian insurgance in Iraq. No difference here yet one is ok to have our troops die in and one is not?

Isn't it obvious? They agreed to the invasion of Afghanistan because there was overwhelming (and proven) evidence the perpetrators were there.
They (the democrats) supported the war in Iraq initially to. For the same reasons. However, a war just for the sake of one is not one any red blooded United States citizen should put up with. It's been proven the MAIN reason for invading the country was disproven. There were and are not WMD's, there was no active weapons program, Saddam did NOT have anything to do with the attacks on the U.S in 2001.
Iraq posed no threat to anyone. They defied U.N sanctions, so have some of our allies. Are we going to invade them too? There's an absolute mess in Iraq because the executive branch chose poorly OR just did not care of the result.
Look no further than the amount of anger by friends and foe's of the U.S since the current president and administration too office in 2000? Previous administrations have done the same thing to be sure. The worst is the current one.
The Donkey and some in the Elephant party realize this was a mistake and there needs to be a change to stop the killing and start mending the wounds.
Welcome to the terror-dome!

Actually, if you think about it, regime change and continuing occupation in Afghanistan was also a mistake.
Yes, the Taliban supported Al Qaeda, but most of the funding and support was coming from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. (this is very clearly documented in the 9/11 commission reports)
Our issue was not with the Afghans - it was with Bin Laden and his supporters outside Afghanistan.
Once we took out Bin Laden's camps, we should have focused on the real enemies - starting with Pakistan, where he's presently based and where the Taliban originated and is also presently based.
Ongoing occupation and war in Afghanistan is a farce the same way the occupation and war in Iraq is a farce - it is at best a proxy war with forces supported by Pakistani intelligence. It is doomed to failure as Iraq and Vietnam before it. We need to focus on the root, not get bogged down in these endless nation building exercises.

We are actually fighting the war on terror in afghanistan.. and not overthrowing a government that actually kept the terrorists out (as was the case in Iraq).
to my knowledge though.. we didn't unleash a mass of violence in afghanistan.. we are doing our job right there... we screwed up big time in Iraq.. and if we wouldn't have made that mistake in the first place.. there wouldn't be very many terrorists at all there.. we have made Iraq MORE of a threat to our security.. not less.. now granted that is in the past.. we made the wrong decision.. so what can we do now... looking at it.. we are continuing to make the situation worse.. or at the very least it doesn't appear that our actions are making it better. saying we're going to send more troops there doesn't really change things.. it's still the same tactics we are using.. trying to train.. trying to hold the insurgents back.. it's just more of the same.. if Bush came up with a different plan.. not just more of the same on a larger plan... and one that looked like it might actually work.. I'd support it. but throwing more bodies at it is not a valid strategy to me.

Bin Laden was the terrorist that took down the Twin Towers
Afganistan is a Al Queda stronghold
Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11

Well the democrats do care about it. But there going in the order of most costly. The iraw war is costing us more in lives and money than the afghan war right now. If and when they succeed in getting us out of the iraq war they will then turn there sights to the afghan war and so forth. But with the democrats they will never stop complaining cause thats what they do. If we werent at war with anyone they would complain about something else. Its a never ending thing with them

Afghanistan is a collective effort and is UN supported and Approved.
And for the obvious reason that Afghanistan had everything to do with terrorism, Al-Qaida and Bin Laden. Whereas Iraq does not.
It is unfortunate that you had to waste 5 points so we could state the obvious

Because, Einstein, Afghanistan was harboring bin Laden after 9/11. We invaded to find him. Did a great job of it, too.
There was a valid REASON for the war in Afghanistan. The war in Iraq happened because Bush was bored.

Politics now days is a sham it nothing more than a popularity contest. The only people that can do good for this country would never be voted into power... because people are so stuck on our two system party and will vote for whatever they are told to vote for or which ever one bashes the other the worst.

Because that's where the actual terrorists who planned and executed the 9/11 massacre were last seen, as opposed to Iraq, where they never were.
After those responsible are captured or killed, we should get out of there, too.
