All my baby clothes had the initials JP. My Dad was sure I was going to be a boy and I was destined to be named after my grandfather Joseph.
But when the nurse held me out to my Dad and announced: 'You have a bonny baby girl', my Dad replied: 'What the hell am I going to do with a girl?!'
I was eventually baptised Bernadette. By the way, Dad thought I was the best thing since sliced bread, once I was in his arms. Been that way every since. : )

My mum was thinking of calling me Alice, Faye or Verity when she found out I was a girl. But if I was a boy I'd be called Max/Maxwell or Tobey.
I am sooooo glad I'm a girl with a name that NO ONE spells wrong!
