"It's an absolute joke. If you're married - your marriage should stay exclusive. That's what marriage is. That's the entire entity of a marriage. Swinging is for selfish couples who can't be bothered to look deep into their marriage and work on the areas that need help. "
"The simple fact that it is disgusting, and making a mochary of the sacred union of marriage... That's what comes to my mind. "
Okay children, let's walk through this. First of all, you cannot possibly state something as a fact if you have no first-hand knowledge of it. Every single sentiment in these two quotes above (just as two sad examples of the array of ignorance displayed above) is 100% patently false.
Secondly, the first thought that comes to mind at the second quote is: spell check. Mochary...is that some kind of new beverage down at Starbucks? Sounds delicious.
To the OP, perhaps the impressions of other Y! Answerers agrees with your own, but being a swinger myself (and being neither stupid, sex-addicted, pathetic, old, ugly, tacky, in an unhappy, unfulfilling marriage, nor grotesquely obese) I have seen the lifestyle from the inside out...and from the outside in. My husband and I have been married nearly 13 years, and have been swingers since 2003. We're in love, and have a very close, intimate relationship with one another. Pardon me for the lengthy, snarly answer but the peddling of lies is one of my pet peeves...particularly when it directly applies to me or mine.
For those of you who have the slightest bit of curiosity about what swinging is REALLY about, check out the site below...because the information you're getting from most "sources" here on Y! Answers is less than accurate.
TO ANSWER THE QUESTION, my first thought is "Coolest freakin' hobby on the planet!"

I have to admit, my first thought is some interest. I wonder what they get out of this when they're in a commited relationship.
I doubt I could share someone to whom I've pledged my life and unending love with strangers.
