I don't mean to be sexist but, when two people get divorced, why does the woman almost always get the house, kids, and car? And half of the man's money? now if she earned some of all this i don't have a problem but usually the women don't have a job, leaving the man to do all the work, and then they get half of the money when they leave.

The woman usually gets the house if there are children to continue to raise. Kids are disrupted enough by their parents split, and then to uproot them from their home too.

Typically women get the kids because they have been the primary caregiver to the child for the majority of the child's life. If the primary caregiver has been the man, the courts usually give to the father. Courts use documents such as medical records, parent teacher conferences, etc. to document who does what, as well as testimony from witnesses.

Women do not get 1/2 the husband's money. If they get chld support, that amount is a set amount based on his and her income.

Believe it or not, the legal system does work. It just seems like men get the short end of the stick, but there is a rhyme and reason to it.

I speak from experience - I am a single mother of two chidlren. I work my butt off in a profession that few women are in, and I do it with NO support from an ex husband. Course, he didn't half of anything to give so I got nuthing...

You sound about as jaded as me, huh? We're just on the opposite side of the fence.

A person marries and becomes part of a couple. Not I did this and you did that. If he works and she takes care of the home, how is she paid? Its not his money, its both of their's money.

I have known lots of people who have been divorced and the only times I have seen the woman get the home is because its where the kids live. Usually the home is split in half and either they sell it and share in the proceeds or one buys the other off for their half.

Honey, its equal opportunity now a days. My ex husband had not worked 33% of our marriage and had not worked the last 15 years and I supported the family. Yet, he had the guts to ask for support, and half of everything yet he was the one committing adultry ,(he had the time I was too busy working). I got a good detective. A lawyer I had to push and he only got half the house and no support . If you are doing the right thing and can proof the other spouse is at fault, you will not loose your shirt in this day and age.

You do not have your statistics correct. About 85% of all women do work outside the home. That's why a majority of them are able to afford to keep the house, the car, etc.

You are bitter, and probably justifiably so, but please do not generalize. Look it up, you will see what I'm talking about.

I don't really have an answer for you there as I've never been through it. I think a lot of women become vindictive and are just being bitches.
