the sentence that i need help rephrasing is:

"Lakers wunderkind Kobe Bryant unleashed a veritiable barrage of basketball brilliance, shooting the lights out en route to an epic accomplishment that will go down in the annals of history: 60 points. "

Kobe Bryant plays for the Lakers. He plays basketball. He plays basketball very well. He get 60 points. He is special. He plays beautiful basketball, bettering even blowing blubber beyond all believable bounds.

Delete "veritiable" (sic).
Replace "the annals of" with "sports."
Replace "accomplishment" with "feat."

If I understood what "shooting the lights out" meant, I might be able to tweak that, along with "en route to."

On the whole, pretty catchy stuff.
