Which one do I take to work today? I leave in an hour. If you're late, pick one for tomorrow. Then, please tell me why you picked the one you did.

'06 FXD35 Superglide or CB750K. Both start and run, as for dependability, neither one has left me stuck. Weather is damp, aand misty, but it does not matter. I ride anyway.

Vlasko, I must accept your answer, as I asked the public. However, you did not answer the question. Should I take the louder one to suit you?

I figured the Honda was jealous, I put 8500 on the HD while it sat in the driveway all winter. Besides, there was a bit of a nostalgia factor, I guess. What about tomorrow? The black one or the white one?

No need to be nasty, JT. I didn't ask to get recognized for helping others. As far as what I ask in return, you need to be able to answer it, don't you?

I know a lot of people expected to see a brand bashfest. I'm really pleased it didn't turn into that.

Take another hit, Bozmo. If I wanted crap like that I would have asked your wife, she made you get a Softie after all, didn't she? Or your butt was too sore to handle a real ride.

Metaphysically speaking, of course.

A pretty even split. Of course there is no best answer, the question will be left open for your amusement, and you folks can pick one if you want.

I took the Honda (black one). Since I got a flat, and parked it overnight, I also rode it the next day, after I fixed it. Then I went and got the Harley (white one) and went to work. Even split, everyone happy?

I've had Hondas, Yamahas and Harleys. They are all great. It doesn't matter what you're riding, It's that you're riding that's important. Rubber side down Man and have a blast with either ride.

I would recomend the Honda. Now don't get me wrong.... I own two Harleys and find them to be very appealing to some members of the opposite sex. I've had at least one lady "instruct" me as to what RPM to cruise at. If you are single maybe you should ride the Harley to work. No matter what some say... they do commonly spring oil leaks. And the reliability factor. I've had a complete top end warranty rebuild on one Harley with less than 10,000 miles among several other warranty and recall problems. One Harley has in fact caused me more grief than all the Jap bikes I've had put together and that figure is in the dozens. I am not kidding and now I will suffer more grief over the Harley because "I've" just upset it's followers. Surely there is some reason that it's my fault the Harleys leak. Maybe I got some SAE and metric screws mixed up? LOL!

I think if I were you I would look at it in a metaphysical sense in the fact that I have owned both, as well as many others and still own a fxst and the things you must ultimately ask yourself is this: If I were not a surfer would I still drive around with a surfboard on the roof of my woody to look cool or not? Would I put a Porsche sticker on my Pinto and expect anyone to think it was a Porsche besides the lops I would probably be running around with who aren't any smarter than that? Then I would have to ask myself one final elimination question would I prefer a doctor operating on me that graduated medical school and jumped thru all the hoops or would I prefer some pscho-entranced crazed pcp smoking moron who worked his jail time off in community service to the hospital in the laundry who stole the smock and scrubs out of the hamper and decided to be Dr. Cool because it don't look as hard as playing an xbox on acid or even winning at the operation game? As you can see it is entirely up to you if you never seen the coast and drive with surfboard on top the Chrysler minivan with real artificial wood siding applique applied and thru the stickers on grandmas Pinto with your posse of pooh-pooh packers and let Dr. Feelgood give you the lobotomy for 3.98. Then Mr. get on that Honda and ride til your lipstick runs and eyeshadow smears and if not sure again tomorrow then ask your wife cuz she tells you what to do anyways. Purely in metaphysical sense of course.

Need to know what type of Harley/Honda and what the weather conditions are!!! Very imperative. ----AHA! Take the CB, today is a good day for the inline 4. Grab the Harley when it is a bit drier. Nice choice on both bikes.

Honda is the best commuter bike. Down and dirty, get from point-a to point-b, purpose built machine. Not so exciting, but practical.

Harley is the weekend butt jewlery ;-) Keep it in the jewelry box (garage) until it is time for the party, then bring it out and show it off. Funny how that has turned around in the last 25 years....

IS THIS EVEN FAIR ????

You have a nearly new HD and you are comparing it to the 70's Honda ....

This is obviously not fair to the HD - it has no chance!

Seriously, if you are still running the classic Honda it's still as reliable as the new HD ... this is a great testament to Honda longevity.

Personally I can't understand why HD are set up so badly, yet sell so well in the US - they are loud, inefficient, heavy, thirsty and overpriced - probably, all the reasons why they sell so well in America and so badly in the rest of the world.

I would say depends on your mood and type of commute.

If I remember right the CB750 (Nighthawk?) is a smaller chassis, but a lot smoother running engine. It will have a lot more pep but will feel less comfortable at high speeds.

The Street Glide is a comfortable cruiser that should feel more stable at highway speeds.

So my choice.

Commute more than 20 miles or on highway. Harley.
Commute less than 20 miles or in town. Honda.
Good weather, Harley.
Bad weather, Whichever has the best tires.
Final decision??? Reach in your pocket and grab a key on your keyring. Whichever one you grab, drive it.

Ride the black one tomorrow, They are both good bikes, if they were not, you would have never said you own one of each.

I have owned all types, HD, Yamaha, Honda, etc.

All have two wheels and make you feel good riding them.

Take the Honda, so I can come to your house and steal your Harley while you are away. No, wait, I want the Honda. Take the Harley.
