First of all, man hasn't been able to drill more than maybe 10 miles down into the earth, where the center of the earth is something like 4000 miles down, so that would be the first challenge. The second challenge is that the center of the earth is approximately 4000 degrees celsius!! That temperature rises steadily as we approach the center so at some point any machines going down there would have to withstand that intense heat (not to mention pressure).
On the other hand if we had a "giant laser" that could incinerate a hole that deep in which we could deposit garbage, the fact that the center of the earth is so hot and has such high pressure would mean all of our trash would be obliterated and recycled in the molten innards of earth's core which would benefit everyone. After all, everything we have today came from the earth, so it only makes sense that we return everything back from whence it came!!

We have drilled a few miles down and the deepest mines are even less. Trash is not that big a problem. I makes more sense to recyle what is easily recylable and bury the rest. Let the free market decide the best alternative with some reasonable regulations.

The center of the earth is molten rock at temperatures close to that of the sun. There are several holes in the Earth's crust already. They are called volcanoes.
Drilling another would be like drilling a hole in the bottom of a leaky boat to let the water out.

Sorry but we can't even make it to the center of the earth. It has way to much heat and pressure. Why not recycle?

There is no technology to do those things.
It is possible that it have a negative effect on earth. We do not know it since we never done those things.
