tomorrow night im going out with my sister and a few friends to a gig to see a band that is playing (if anyone understands it an all ages 'way-ou-west' gig) . Firstly these friends are my sisters friends and a few people who will be in my year at my new school next year. Fundementally im quite shy, how can i be myself and not be mute and thought of as boring? And secondly what should i expect? dancing or moshpitting and will alcohol be provided since people under 18 will be there and if i do drink what is a normal drink for a girl? vodka & coke? beer (or is that too manly) ? or something non-alcoholic? (im 16, but i have drunk before and my friends do but im not sure if i will be expected to or if people under 18 will at an 'all ages' event!)
Please could anyone help me and explain to me what might happen at this gig and what to do and how to act please! i really want to make a good impression with the people im going to be going to school with next year.
any help would be great! :-)

I have jsut been to one of those but it really does vary I mean sometimes they serve drinks but sometimes they dont! And listen you really shouldn't be worrying about what drrink you get to make a good impression. If people do like you then they wont care if you get a "manly" drink. Good Luck.

Since the drinking age is 21, I would have to assume there will be no alcohol and IF there is, it would not be offered to you. IF it is, by some idiotic freak of nature, by all means, feel the freedom to say no.

A normal drink for a 16 year old girl is Coke or Sprite... and keep your hand on it all night or it may wind up spiked without you being aware. No one will "expect" a 16 year old girl to drink alcohol. In fact, many could be arrested for encouraging it... allowing it... suggesting it... or paying for it.

Do not set yourself up with a nasty reputation by drinking alcohol, acting ridiculous and then puking all over the place. That would not be cool.

Dance... laugh... have fun... stay safe... have good judgment without being anal retentive. That's the coolest move ever.

At 14 you know right from wrong and how to say no. You know not to drink and you also know what is the right way for you to act. Don't worry what others think. Are you an engine or a caboose?

that hurt my head. You are too young to drink. Go and have a good time without drinking. At your age you can do this. Don't start bad habits. Cheers!:)
