I have come so far in my life from where i was, i have started my new career. better money, more friends, a bit more of a social life still a long way to go to be where i want to be, i used to dream about being where i am today but.... i feel more down now than ever. i have tried all sorts of reverse psychology on myself and really willed myself to appreciate where i am, and who i am and tell myself how much worse things could be. But i am still down, not depressed just un motivated, fed up and down!

I think we all go through a period of time where we just sort of get into a funk and nothing seems quite right with us, even though it should be. Just take a look at what you've accomplished and be proud of what you've done and the work it took you to get where you are now. Maybe it's time to set new goals for yourself to reach for. When we become stagnant it's easy to get depressed. New goals, both short term and long term give us something to work towards and to look forward to.

You've been fighting for a while, why not sit down and rest for a bit?
Give yourself a break and relax. You just might be surprised at how much you would begin to appreciate life after you stop and take a closer look at it. There is no philosophical bullshit in perspective or whatever, a simple mind-laxative is what you need to flush all the messes down the drain.

Something is missing...significant other maybe? Maybe now that you have the things you dreamed of or wanted you feel like you've accomplished all your goals. So set new goals and have new dreams. What can you improve on about you, how can you better your job or climb the ladder, what can you do to help others? Start a journal and re-read it everyweek- that way you can kind of look inside.

Try the Paul McKenna books - Instant Confidence & Change Your Life In 7 Days. They both have Relaxation Cds & are really good.
Remember Happiness is not a place, but a state of mind.

Take a break for a while like a couple of weeks and recharge yourself. Then set another timetable to reach the new aims in life.
I do it it works wonders, I have a stressful job and find it works a treat. I also have the support of my wife which helps a great deal.

Sorry to disappoint, but money and career status probably don't cause happiness.
Focus more on your friendships and freeing up some time to do the hobbies or other things you REALLY enjoy, that might make you feel better.
If you're clinically depressed (e.g., thinking of suicide), you need to see a psychotherapist. NOW.

maybe try looking into a hobby or activity that "you" truly can really get into, and enjoy. I don't know all the specifics of your situation, maybe your too busy trying to live the life the way other people are expecting you to live.

me too. I've been down so many times. I could scream. why? I've taken to just lying down, soak up the emotion. recover and get on with it. Longsuffering, i believe is the word. Personally, i hate the stuff, i could go on and on, but you know that. I wish you all the best. bye.
