As shocking as this may be to you ,to me and to everyone who has an understanding and respect for civil liberties and knows why they are important,I've found the Bush supporters just don't care.They seem convinced that if you have nothing to hide you will be OK.They think the government will only do this to BAD people.They are eagerly and willing following the logic of a police state,forgetting the great principals America was founded on.
It's sad and disturbing but I think that's what happening.Why don't people learn anything from History?

First of all the heading (US Citizen is sentenced without evidence) is false.
When was he sentenced? Did he pled guilty?
As for Donna who claims she is her Padilla's attorney, did Padilla hire her or is she just a "limelight grabber?"
Padilla was apprehended not inside the USA, but at the border attempting entry - there are significant legal differences.
Material Witness warrants are not new, they have been around for almost as long as the US has been in existence and before.
A federal judge ruled on the material witness warrant applicable to Padilla.
There are a lot more (Where is the ABA on this? They know it is all legal), but I will let you do your own research as I have.
Besides, what is the alternative? Let an enemy (even if he is a US Citizen) run loose?

Cons will drop the PATRIOT act as soon as a dem gets voted into the oval office. They don't want a democratic elected official to have that power, just a republican
