She may not have lost her "tongue thrust" reflex yet. I'm not sure how exactly you're feeding her, but don't put the food directly into her mouth, hold the spoon up to her lips and let her suck it off the spoon. You may want to try using breast milk or formula to mix it instead of water, and you may also want to try offering it at different consistencies.

Shes too young... wait a few more months.
You should never have to "teach" a baby how to eat solids food, its a pretty natural thing... when she is ready, she will eat.
Also, its better to start with fresh foods... cereal is just junk.
Wait at least another month and try mashed banana or avocado...

Maybe it's a sign she's not ready for solid foods. 6 mos is the recommended age anyway. Give it a break for a couple of weeks and then try again.
La Leche League recommends bananas, avocados and sweet potatoes as good first foods.

Most babies begin to lose the tongue thrust reflex about four months old, but some may lose it later. Both of my kids hated rice cereal, I just went right to veggies.

Babies have to learn to eat from a spoon. Even if they like it, their tongues push it out of their mouths. If she seems to have the hang of eating from a spoon, she may not like it and you could try something else or she may just not be ready for solids yet.
