That was a very stupid thing to do. Not only can they fire you (and you SHOULD be) for destroying property (yes, the bird was store mechandice, and thus, store property), but they could also take you to court over it. (Again, the bird was store property. In effect, you STOLE from Petco.)
Let's see...that's...
Theif of property. (The bird)
Destruction of said property. (again, the bird)
Animal cruelty (feeding the bird --which was NOT yours to begin with-- to a cat.)
Yep. If Petco decides to press charges, you are looking at some serious jail-time. Say 5 to 10 years, at least. And, of course, some hefty fines, probiblty in the THOUSANDS.
Next time, just open a can of tuna. MUCH cheaper.

If the bird is so rare, why are they selling? They should give it to a zoo or something. I bet the cat was happy to have gotten some meat for once. Was it worth your job? If you want, I'll give you my job and I'll go apply at Petco.

I think that is sad, not that you are being fired, but that you murdered an innocent creature, particularly a rare one to feed a cat. Why couldn't you have just given the cat some cat food? Why the need for such cruelty?

Haha. If it were true, yeah, you should probably be fired. But Petco doesn't have any rare birds and no cats, either.

How selfish of them for not understanding that you fed the soon-to-be-extinct short-billed, screaming, Fluppaloop bird to that poor, hungry cat.
I'd sue if I were you.
