I just got a Marilyn Manroe piercing and now, a little to late, I am worried about the scar that it will leave on my face. Do the Marilyn piercings heal quickly? And if they do, do they leave a big scar?

each person`s body is different, so the severity of the scar will depend on how your own body heals...i have a monroe, & the 1st time i had it done, it accidentally came out while i slept...i couldn`t replace the jewelry as the hole had already closed...i had to wait 30 days to have it re-pierced...before i had it re-done the hole had healed nicely, with a very faint scar, similar to one from a very small pimple or something like that...

Basically, any infliction to the skin will leave a scar of some sort. The only way to minimize this is to cleanse the area and apply a scar ointment while it's still fresh. Otherwise, you will want to try going with a salicylic acid base for that area or go for a peel at the dermatologist to minimize the appearance. They leave a pock mark scar when it heals and sometimes a dark pigmentation around the area for quite some time.

You will have a scar wether you take it out now or later. I had my nose pierced and I have a scar. I was very deligent about keeping it clean, so its a very small spot. My boyfriend never noticed until I pointed it out. Basically it will be one of those scars that you will know thats there, but no one else we really notice it.

Yes, it'll scar, but if you take care of it, you'll barely notice it. Also, if you just got it done, you don't want to take it out yet. Since it isn't fully healed, you need to allow the pus to come out--and if you take out the piercing, it won't have anywhere to go, causing an infection.

what's a marilyn monroe piercing? btw, if you're worried about a scar and you just got the piercing, i would take it out immediately.
