Log into your router and change its channel to 1. Channels 1, 6 and 11 have the smallest amount of RF frequency overlap.

Most routers default settings are on channel 6 and most home users do not have enough knowledge to change them if there are other routers close by on the same channel. This can cause your wireless signal to seem like it drops out every once in awhile if the other routers signals are strong enough.

It is possible to change the channel your wireless router broadcasts on to avoid interference from other networks. If you check the manual that came with your router (or alternatively on the manufacturers website) there should be something in there to tell you how to do it .
