I doubt you will have a hard time finding things to do in denver (definetly check out washington park and city park if your family likes being outside and the weather is nice) the museums (childrens, or the nature and science, or art) are nice too. In omaha, it will be a little harder to find things to do. I have great memories from when I was a kid and going to the Old Market in Omaha and there is a gigantic outdoor slide that was so much fun! The old market has shops and restaurants but really I still think the slide is the highlight (if you go, remember to bring a blanket to sit on when going down). Also in Omaha the Fontonelle forest is a very nice area and close to omaha (just a few minutes away) On Bellevue boulevard there is a fontonelle forest visitor center and then trails out back that go all through the forest so you may enjoy that. But I am not sure if it is open year round so check first.
I hope this helpes you. Email me if you have more questions.

I grew up in both cities.
Denver: Coors brewery, Boulder's Pearl Street Mall, Estes Park, Red Rocks, Garden of the Gods, REI flagship store, Natural History Museum.
Omaha: CANT MISS HENRY DOORLY ZOO (better than San Diego where I now live), Joslyn Art Museum, Lincoln's State Capital, Drive-Through wildlife park near Ashland (can't remember the name), A dinner cruise on the Missouri river, Riverboat Casino's in Council Bluffs, The Old Market, drive by Warren Buffet's house.

Denver could be the perform where the glow may sun 300 times of year. Denver is a successful social scene, varied neighborhoods, and natural beauty combine for the world's most spectacular playground and with hotelbye you will see ways to get there. Denver is the place for: World-class attractions, normal wonders, growing arts world, dozens of modern and acclaimed restaurants and nightlife options galore. Denver definitely started using it all. In Denver you can visit the Mount Evans and the Mount Evans Highway. The Mount Evans Highway is really a seasonal road that will be closed during winter months months

Omaha HAS:

World class ZOO (second to San Diego)
- Henry Dorley Zoo
Aerospace museum
baseball park where College World Series is played and a AAA? ball team
More great restaurants per capita than many cities
a great trail system for walking, running, and biking
parks galore
(casinos)
A great music scene in the Benson area.
a great river front, park restaurant etc.
The Old Market
the Union Pacific Headquarters and Museum ( think GOLDEN SPIKE)
Girls and Boys Town
A childrens museum
(Warren Buffet, not exactly a tourist attraction but the second richest man in the U.S.)

And most of all, Omaha has my heart.........

Denver has tons of things to do, but depending on the time you have there are also a lot of things to do around and outside Denver. as well. Also, because Colorado has varying weather and seasons, it's good to know when you'll be in Denver...
