I prefer to be respected, but some believe feared is synonymous with respect

Unfortunately I've been feared way more times than respected. I have a bad temper and I've caused a lot of problems with people in the past. I'm really trying to conquer that though.

Feared. Its the most efficient way to get things done. People who are respected only have an effect on the people who like them but with fear you can affect a larger group of people.... its like asking would I have rather been Hitler or Roosevelt? Roosevelt was a good man who was respected and did many great things for the nation over several terms in office people mourned him after his passing and he is a hero in the eyes this nation. Hitler was a powerful leader who was a horrible person who did unspeakable things. But his impact on history affected the world and is still a large part of many peoples lives today, a hero to a nation vs a villain to the world, which one is more recognized now? A quote represents all the Roosevelt accomplished, yet so many things bring Hitler to mind. Swastikas, zig heil (sp), a salute, any one speaking in a german accent..... I would like to be feared, but not as Hitler was, but perhaps in the way the United States was feared after Pearl Harbour. I would like to be thought of as a force to be reckoned with. Just to avoid any confusion for those who like to start crap. Hitler was a bad man, a VERY bad man and I do no condone any of his actions, I just have to mental capacity to fully recognize that despite his EVILNESS he was a powerful leader and an amazinf orator.

Neither, though I'd prefer respected over feared.

I would hope to be respected by good kind folks.

And feared by bad mean ones. I'm crazy and I have 7 axes.
