The UN. . NOT the USA. . has found Iran GUILTY of continuing the nuclear programs
The UN. . NOT the USA . . has imposed sanctions on Iran for their defiance of who. .the WORLD COMMUNITY
Iran/Achmadinejad has called for the destruction of Israel and the USA
Iran has held conferences to plan world trade AFTER the USA does not exist .
Iran/Achmadinejad has held conferences to deny that the Holocaust ever even happened .
Iran has taken 15 British Hostages. . .and here's the real interesting part. . . Britain has published GPS coordinates proving that they were actually in Iraqi waters , but even if you don't trust that, Iran has illegally been broadcasting 'confessions' from Hostages . And normally these type of incursions are usually dealt with by escorting the boats out of territorial waters. .not by taking Hostages

So I ask you. . . . .At what point do we say the hell with them and end diplomatic efforts to get them to comply ?

I believe that this could be very simple to solve. Because the Iranians are illegally holding British troops, I believe that they should place a naval blockade off the Iranian coast. Even though the Iranians produce oil, they have to import about half of their gasoline (they only have one refinery). If the Brits cut off only the gasoline imports, and carry out a pin point air attack to decommission their refinery, you would see the Iran come to a screeching halt. In all likely hood the citizens would then either demand capitulation, or likely revolt. Either way the mullahs will learn that the west will not back down, and that hostage taking is not acceptable.

as far as the hostages.. we don't, Britain has that call. as for the rest of it.. the tricky part is that it's not all of Iran that is the problem.. the Iranian people are actually pretty pro-USA.. it's Tehran that is the problem.. so how do you get rid of Tehran without creating a larger problem by turning the whole nation against us... it may be a painful wait.. but if we allow the Iranians to take care of Tehran themselves.. which the last election showed they are starting to do... and we keep a watchful eye on them to make sure they don't do something too crazy until them.. we can have a strong ally in the ME with no bloodshed as a result.

We don't. This is England's bed. We should play a support roll only. We should not put a troop on the ground in Iran. If the U.N. does not get positive results from their official negotiations we as a Country should no longer financially support the governing body. They are no longer a viable entity and we shouldn't spend another tax dollar trying to prop it up.

We need to send a few Black Ops into Iran to kill Achmadinejad. If that can't be done, then the UN - not the USA - needs to respond militarily. Sooner rather than later.

If the U.N. is not going to actually do anything, we should let it go. Isn't the current situation in Iraq enough of a reason?

The U.N. needs to be exposed for the useless institution that it is, all bark and no bite.

Soon. Very soon. And they damn well ought to know that, even as we speak!

Believe me, when Reagan and Thatcher were in office they'd have gotten maybe one phone call...followed by a cruise missile up Ahmadinejad's tailpipe.

A week ago. Iran isn't scared of anything other than violence. How scared can they be of someone waving their fist in the air? Until someone does something, they will keep pushing and pushing.

Not for a while. China and Russia have both told us not to take military intervention against Iran, as they get their oil from them. I'm not trying to start WW3 without exhausting all diplomatic efforts.
