When I was a kid, we used to have this secret codes for letters though I dont really remember every letter's number code but i think your example will be read (according to our OLD CODE :) ) as Gengiskan. This is the number=letter equivalence list which I still remember.

1 = i forgot
2 = forgot too
3 = "e"
4 = "a"
5 = "s"
6 = "g"
7 = "L"
8 & 9 = i don't know either
0 = "o" obviously

Generally, from what I've seen....

1= I or l
2= (not sure, haven't seen it used much except as 'me2', etc.)
3= E
4= A
5= S
6= (again not sure, but I think it could be a capital G)
7= T
8= B
9= can be g, not sure otherwise.
0= O
@ could also be read as O as well.
