should I put some in? and if yes, how much?

and, in the "super ick cure" directions it says, remove the carbon from the filter, add 5ml of medicine per every 5 gallons. I couldn't remove the carbon, will that really make a difference? it said scaleless fish are sensitive to this medicine so, put half the dose. I put 15ml instead of 30. (my tank is really 33 but I made it if it was 30) it said repeat dose after 48 hours, and 48 hours after the second dose, do a water change. I am seriously due for a water change, would it matter if I did a water change during those 4 days? would it make the process faster or less effective? thanx

Since you have started a chemical treatment with a good quality ich medication you should stick with that and not swap to a salt and heat based cure. Both work, but you should do one or the other, not both and not swap unless the one you are using is not working.

Yes, removing the carbon is an important step. If need be just leave the entire filter bag out of the filter, but the carbon will remove the medication in a matter of just a few hours if you don't.

Don't change the water unless you add back enough medication to make up for it. That is if you remove 10 gallons of water, add enough medication to treat 10 gallons once you are done. If you don't the medication will be deluted too low to have the needed effect.

I would also suggest you continue the treatment for at least another 48 hours. So wait 48 hours add it for the second dose, then wait 48 hours and add another dose ethen wauit 48 hours and do the water change to remove the medication and replace your carbon.

Be very careful with this medication. Both active ingredients are known carcinogens. Don't get it on your skin if you can help it and wash really well if you do.

By the way, you are right plecos don't like salt, but can tolerate enough to kill the ich without too much trouble.

Scaleless fish are hard to treat for ich. They don't like salt. They don't like most ich medications. Some people say half doses of malachite green.
The only thing safe is to raise the temp, remove the Pleco to a quarantine tank. Treat the other fish, because the probably have it and treat the Pleco separately.

boost your tank temp to eighty 5 maximum will disagree with this however the extreme temp will kill ick with the help of itself and in the adventure that your using salt to help you do no longer would desire to do away with the carbon from the clear out as far as salt a million tbs consistent with 5 gallons will do it additionally however the temp is the biggest
