i don't have one and don't really want one. the only time i think of it is when i'm on the road by myself and if my car brakes down. other than that, i'm good not being 'reachable' every minute of every day...i mean, leave me a message, for god sake! i'll get back to you later!

FYI...i HAVE had one in the past, I KNOW how they work and i GET what they are about...I just don't see why everyone feels it is (or THEY are) so important that they must be able to be reached at ALL times...give it a rest, NOTHING is that important.

Certainly not the last but I as well do not have one or DO I WANT ONE! You are so right in the "leave me a message" attitude! It's not like in the past ten years there was a need for cell phones. All my brothers have one, my father, my mother, my sisters in law, my mother and father in law, nephews, cousins and so on. My wife is a Major in the USAF and even her command staff are incredulous that we do not have one.
All I see when I see people with cell phones is how rude they are while gabbing to someone at a table and you are "in the conversation" for they talk so loud so the other person on the other end can hear, test messaging while in the movie theater, TEXT MESSAGING WHILE DRIVING>>>>AT NIGHT, Eating and driving and talking on the cell phone or even while attending Sunday church services and people's cell phones going off during the sermon! People have become so self absorbed with their own "functionality" that they disregard social etiquitte to the point of being rude, obnoxious and obstinate when you tell them to get off the phone! I cannot tell you how many times I have been almost rearended, cut off, slammed on brakes because these idiots who talk on the phone are not aware of their surroundings.
Sorry for the rant! Yes, they have the freedom to talk as they wish on these phones but when the freedom of me arriving to my destination is compromised by unthinking people, then your "right" infringes upon mine!

Being a chick that looks like you would probably be overwhelmed with dudes calling you. I have to have one for work, but they are a pain in the ***. Although I wouldn't leave home without one, main reason is safety. You should at least carry one when you go out at night just in case some drunk guy won't leave you alone, or you lock your keys in your car or things like that.

Nah, I know tons of people who don't have one, not a big deal. I forget to turn mine on half the time and I hate people listening to my conversations so I don't use it all that much either. It's just a phone after all, not something that a person needs to live like say water or oxygen.

Nope I don't have one either. Only thing is I don't want one. Its just another piece of electronics the world says I need but I dont. In realitly buying a cell phone is just conforming and following the crowd.

I got rid of mine. I hate phones. Nothing is more annoying than watching a driver on a phone making stupid traffic errors, or trying to carry on a conversation with a friend in person and having them interrupt our conversation to take 10 incoming phone calls.

I don't have a cell phone. I never learned how to call a pager either (it's not like calling a regular phone) and those have been around for 20 years.
