More Background. Pennicial Entertainment is building a privatly funded casino and hotel. When St. Louis has a construction site funded by taxes it has to have 20% minority workers. BUT since Pennicial is PRIVATLY funded it has no such requierments, but the black workers are DEMANDING a 35% minority work force. And are threatining to shut down the site if it is not reached in 10 days.

I would also like to give you my point of view, though I will let the voters pick the best answer.
I think both statements are rediculious. How about 1000 jobs for 1000 people. Mexican, White or, Black... it shouldnt matter, and the people who are threatining the shut down are in the wrong.

According to the Board of r.acism (I think thats what there called) that reveiw Standerdized testing papers for "R.acial Slant" than anything negative about anyone thats not white is evil. If a person made a group for black firefighters, than people would all say "How nice, there standing up for there ure," but is I made a group for white firefighters, people would say "What an evil person! He must be in the !" Your also not allowed to portray asians as shy and submissive, or sleepy mexican janiters, or black people eating fried chicken, or any other stetreotype. Jeez people, get a grip. Black people arent even a minority anymore! Just because its white dosnt mean its evil!

I think that jobs should be given based on experience and not color. Unfortunately it's not like that a African Americans get jobs because they are not treated fairly. For a white person to say that they want a job because of their color would be a bit silly since many of the jobs already go to them. Many times a white person gets a job and they are less experienced than the black person. It's not fair either way I uess.

Chris,
Discrimination is unacceptable, regardless of who is being singled out...ruling out all others in favor of black folks is as wrong as doing so for whites or anyone else.
Somehow our (U.S.) society has gotten to the point where even though it IS wrong, black racism is accepted, and even encouraged.
So, in answering your question...yes, it is racist...but so is the original idea presented. Both equally wrong.

Same as white history month or WET (White Entertainment Television). It's called a double standard and the USA is quite good at it.

I think we're all tired of porch monkeys playing the race card. It's time to stop pandering to those Apes.

Yes I think it is, if whites would ever say anything like that it would be racist. Bunch of bull if you ask me...just like they get special treatment for college tuition...

that would be silly. we can all be better if everything was color blinded.
however, some people think that people of different colors need to be seen to erase the assumption that white men dominate this country.

Employers should be allowed to hire whoever they want and not be hampered by 'racial quotas'.
