An act is an act, and we all have the ability to "choose" our reaction to it. So, I would tend to say being disrespectful is wrong any way you look at it.

If humans did not have emotions, they would presumably still have intellect and process the information. If the information is distorted, then it could affect an intellectual bias, or tip the scale of power -- one toward another. it could also just create a misunderstanding, such as slang is only good if both the listener and the speaker share the same understanding of the slang.

If human beings didn't have feelings, we would not have to worry about respect, courtesy, etc. There wouldn't be honor, polite or impolite, dignity, respect, etc. because only when we have those things we have liability to do correct things.
We normally do not ask trees or stone to show courtesy or respect, because they do not have any conscience or feelings. They have no liability to show such manner.

If humans didnt have feeling I dont think respsect would even be a word. And if they didnt have feeling why would they even want to call people any names, no one would care to even do anything. I think we would die!!!!
