I was raised by Conservatives, but then worked with the poor alot when I got older, changing my viewpoints on some things. Generally, I am liberal thinking (though don't know how much of a "Liberal" I am). I can argue the virtues and weaknesses of both sides pretty well. I think that the biggest pitfall is putting each other in roles, as it has a tendency to dehumanize issues and people. I think I am basically a humanist.

I do, but not because my parents raised me to be like them.. my parents would not discuss their political views with me till I was in college... but it's more than that... it's the way they teach us to look at the world and other people.. and many times that translates into liberal or conservative.. and many times liberal and conservative translates into democrat and republican.

I haven't seen my birth parents since I was 10, so I don't know. I guess I'm a conservative liberal. I was raised by a great black man, not that that has anything to do with anything.

My parents and I are all indepedent. But that is where the comparision ends. They are mod-conservative and I am to the left.
You're right, I've never come across a conservative raised by liberals.

No. I never shared my father's political views and my mother died when I was an infant so I really don't have an idea where she would stand on issues today.
Heck some of the biggest political arguments I have had are with members of my family. I think they are whacked on some of their views.

Illegal immigrants by far and away share their parents' politics. Most of our famillies have different views and therefore we have lively debates about politics. The difference between some of us is that some of us will act on our beliefs while others are "afraid to rock the boat".
