On an average day, how much time does my family need to see everything at Disney's Animal Kingdom? Would it be possible to see everything and still have time to go to another theme park on the same day?

Yes, especially since Animal Kingdom closes earlier than the other parks -- during the summer/busy times the Magic Kingdom can stay open several hours later.

Definitely take your time with Animal Kingdom, see all there is to see (shows, etc.), especially the new Finding Nemo musical show.

The Festival of the Lion King is a must-see show as well.

You can leave Animal Kingdom at or near closing and still make it over to Magic Kingdom, Epcot or Disney-MGM Studios and take in their nighttime shows and/or have time for more rides/shows.

Have a great trip!

Animal Kingdom is a day-time park, it can be done in about half a day if you plan out your route around the park and use good time management; however, if you go during a peak-season it might take a full day to see the entire park due to the longer lines. But even on a peak day you will still have the rest of the late afternoon/evening to do something oustide the park since Animal Kingdom has the earliest closing times out of all the parks.

I recommend you browse the park website at:

Have Fun!

hi,
well actually i was just there the other day.you can see everything on the same day including their Broadway shows like "festival of the lion king" and "finding nemo" however i would not recommend it.i would really give the park 2 days.take advantage of fast pass on some rides because they sometimes have long waiting lines.fast-pass is a pass that you get after entering your park tickets into a machine that will give you a specific time to come back to that ride so that you wont have too wait more than 5 min.please visit www.waltdisneyworld.com so that you can get familiar with the park and plan an itinerary that you can print out so that you can get the most out of the park in a day. try to go on days that the park closes late and bring comfortable shoes, water, sunscreen, and sunglasses.it can get very hot and packed.enjoy your trip.by the way the shows are unbeliavable!

It really depends on when you will be going, who will be going, how fast you can walk, etc. Here are a few little tidbits for you to consider:

When you are going is really important. If you go during peak season, you will most definitely need more than one day to see everything. With the popular rides it can take a long time just waiting in line and getting to see everything. If you go during low season it isn't nearly as bad and makes it much easier to see everything in one day.

If you have younger kids and/or aren't able to move quite as fast, you may need a little more time. There is a lot of things to see around the park that you need to walk to. So if you want to go at a slower pace it may take a little longer. Also, some of the attractions are better for younger visitors while some are better for older visitors.

The rides/attractions you want to see is also important. Kilimanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest, Kali River Rapids, etc. are all rides that usually have a very long wait. So, you will want to take advantage of Fastpass whenever possible. Also, if you are staying onsite, be sure to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. Even though it doesn't seem like much time, the hour you get in to the parks ahead of the rest of the crowd really does help. Even if you are only able to see one or two rides, if they are the more popular rides, it will really put you ahead with your time and ahead of the offsite/"sleep in" guests.

If you plan to eat/shop, that can take some time as well. If you want to increase your time, try to just eat a quick snack or go to a counter-service meal instead of a table-service, that can save you quite a bit of time as well. Tusker house is a pretty nice counter-service meal.

To answer your question, you can do Animal Kingdom in one day, but it does depend on all the factors and things like that. The park does not stay open all day, so most people do go to another park afterwards. This is great for Magic Kingdom and EPCOT since they are so large, they can take several days to see everything.

If you really want to see absolutely everything at Animal Kingdom you will probably need to spend a little more than one day in the park. But, if you want to see the main things in the park and/or all the factors are perfect for you, you shouldn't have a problem. I've done Animal Kingdom in one day many times.

Have a great time!

No - I recommend a full day for Disney's Animal Kingdom. If you are going to break up any of the parks, do that when you visit the Disney-MGM Studios. That park can be seen in less than a day.
DAK does close earlier than most parks (typically around 5 or 6pm each night), so this is a great night to plan for a fun dinner show! I recommend the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Reservations are required in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

From past experience it is a full day at Animal Kingdom if you never been there before. If you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, make sure you take advantage of the day that Animal Kingdom opens up early. It is open possible for Resort guests.

Your question depends on when you are going. If you are there at a "low" season and the park is not busy - then yes, you can do it. We were there in late October and it was only moderately busy - only long lines at the two or three rides. We were able to see and do all the things we wanted to do at the park in about 6 hours - without really rushing. We took in all the major rides and a few shows - we even had time to let our son play around in the dinosaur dig area

We used the fast pass only for the Kali river rapids.

We then went to Epcot for dinner and spent the evening going around the World pavilions.

Be sure to get there when the park opens - that way the lines for your first rides aren't that bad.

Yes, the AK closes early so you can go to the other parks. When we go (only 4 days left!!!) we are planning a full day for AK. That should get us to see all of the attractions we want. The rest of the time is devoted to the other 3 parks and one of the water parks.
