I have songs that I purchased on iTunes that I can't open anymore because the account that I bought them with no longer exists. So I can't validate the file. I have almost $100 worth of purchased music I can't listen to anymore because I can't get iTunes to play them. Is there a program that will convert the .m4p file to something else to get around this problem??

Remember, I cannot burn a cd and put them back on my computer as mp3's because I can't get the files to open in the first place. This is NOT illegal since I purchased the songs, I just can't open them anymore because Apple has deleted my account because of inactivity (i guess).

This makes no sense.
When you buy itunes, the song keys are stored on your computer, so you don't need to have an account to play them back.
You only need an account if you copy them to another computer and you want to play them there.
So, if the songs are truly yours, you should be able to play them in at least one computer. Then you can use itunes to convert them to MP3s.
Plus accounts on iTunes don't expire. If you know the user ID and the passowrd, your old account should work just fine.

There are softwares ou there that break DRM but it's illegal (atleast in the US) and this isn't really the place to ask that.
