It has equal numbers.

All atoms have at least one proton. If there are no protons, there is no nucleus (nucleus is made up of protons and neutrons), and therefore there is no atom.

No, no atom has 0 protons and electons. An atom may have 1 to 92 protons and exactly same number of electrons to keep the atom electrically neutral. For example, Hydrogen atom has 1 proton in the nucleus and 1 electron orbiting (this is an approximation but will do for now). Uranium has 92 protons, 146 neutrons and 92 electrons in its 238 isotope. Carbon has 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons.

As long as an atom has the same number of protons and electrons, it will be electrically neutral. If the number of electrons is either less or more, it becomes an ion and takes part in chemical reactions.

as atoms are neutral this indicates that they hav the same number of protons and electrons which cancel out each others charge.

This is for an atom not an ion which has charge.

The number of protons in an atom is the same as its atomic number and as it is neutral the number of electrons also equals this.

For example. oxygen has an atomic number 8 ie. an oxygen atom contains 8 protons and 8 electrons. helium has an atomic number 2 ie. helium atoms contains 2 protons and 2 electrons.

All you can say is that it has the same number of protons and electrons.

Each element has a different number of protons and electrons. That what makes them different elements.

karin is real and gets the factors purely positioned: we assume there are the comparable sort of protons and electrons in an atom by using fact the loss or benefit of electrons might define the atom as an Ion

well i think if it has no electric charge than either its a noble gas or it has its bond made with sum element n acquired the nearest noble gas configuration...thus its neutral

coz its imposible to have no electron, proton n neutron n still be a n atom.....
