I have his book of poems and I love it. And he even incorporates poetry in alot of his music. Out of the modern generation he is the best hands down. As fat as comparing him to classical stuff alot of people will say Tupac can't compare. However, I love Tupac and he will always be my favorite. And people that are speaking negatively about him have not actually read any of his poetry. Everyone will have different taste, but you should take the time to read his book The Rose That Grew From the Concrete. You shouldn't base your opinion on one or two songs you may have heard. Not all of his songs were negative. As a matter of fact majority had an underlying positive theme, if you soak in the message.

Oh for sure...he's a legend. 2Pac is known for fitting words together when they actually don't even rhyme. He could produce perfect beats. His songs had feelings and strong emotions - not something a lot of rappers express.
My two favorite songs by 2Pac Shakur are "Dear Momma" and "Life Goes On". A few other great ones are Ghetto Gospel and also I Ain't Mad Atcha.
My all-time favorite rapper is Eminem, and 2Pac is HIS role model. Eminem is also known for some of the same charasteristics as 2Pac - including what I said about feelings.
2Pac will always be a legend. It's true - the good die young.

He is a freakin' Rap guy (I don't use the word 'singer' deliberately) You HAVE to be kidding! Have you come across any real poetry? I don't think so! His stuff is ok for what it is, but one of the greatest poets! Jeez, you have to be kidding! That is almost as bad as saying Tracy Emin is one of the greatest artists!

It's all a matter of opinion, but I think music-wise, Bob Dylan is the best poet ever.

Never. Much of his lyrics were tripe! Probably part of the reason 2Pac is where he is today.
