As others have answered, you don't appear to have any of the the toxic shock symptoms listed here. Unless, you have symptoms you don't ordinarily have while you're bleeding, you should be o.k. I would just keep taps on yourself & if, you start feeling worse go see your doc.

A person can SAFELY use tampons for up to 8 hours at a time without increasing the risk of TSS. I'm sure you'll be fine. You don't need to worry about changing your tampon so often...you should change to accommodate your flow.

BTW, the biggest risk factor for TSS and tampons used to be the types of fibers that the tampons were constructed from. These days the manufacturers are more conscientious of the risks to women and don't use those fibers any more.

If you had it you would know........you would be very sick.

Toxic shock syndrome from staphylococcus starts suddenly with vomiting, high fever (temperature at least 102 degrees Fahrenheit [38.8 degrees Celsius]), a rapid drop in blood pressure (with lightheadedness or fainting), watery diarrhea, headache, sore throat, and muscle aches. Within 24 hours, a sunburn-like rash appears. There also may be bloodshot eyes and an unusual redness under the eyelids or inside the mouth (and vagina in females). After that, broken blood vessels may appear on the skin. Other symptoms may include: confusion or other mental changes; decreased urination; fatigue and weakness; thirst; weak and rapid pulse; pale, cool, moist skin; and rapid breathing.

If you had TSS, you would know.
2 years ago I got it.
YES I AM A GUY! The odds 1 in 32 million.
You can get it from things other than tampons.
I can say with a 99.9% certainty, you are fine.
You have to have a source of the bacteria to start with.

I always slept with a tampon in and never once got sick. it's very rare for that to happen and the tampon that was the major cause was taken off the market years ago. now the tmapons makers are careful about what materials they use. don't worry, I'm sure you're fine.

I know you're not supposed to, but I always sleep with tampons in...you are probably fine

symptoms to look for:
-A sudden high fever.
-Vomiting or diarrhea.
-A rash resembling a sunburn, particularly on your palms and soles. After a week or so, the skin on your hands and feet generally begins to peel.
-Confusion.
-Muscle aches.
-Redness of your eyes, mouth and throat.
-Seizures.
-Headaches.
