No teeny-bopper "ewwww" statements please. The belts look lacy and with colors, the pads are really thin... must be an improvement. What are the advantages that are causing them to come back? Thanks

Oh dear GAWD! You have got to be kidding??? I started out wearing a belt and pads and was sooooooooo thankful when "stick-ons" became readily available. I cannot imagine anything being able to be improved on this contraption. I know there are mini pads out there that are "thong" shaped. Perhaps the belt being lacy and pretty is an alternative to those. But I still think you would have problems with slippage and leakage and a thin pad doesn't really work on a heavy day. Also, the look of today seems to be smooth (ie: no panty lines) so I am not sure how a belt would look under tight fitting clothes.
Thank goodness I no longer have to worry about that problem!

It must be men who thought up bringing back such a device!

I don't think they are "coming back". What you saw was probably a one-off thing or some company trying to market something different.

I've tried sanitary belts once in my life, and I must say that they definitely stay in place more compared to ordinary pads. One of the stresses of non-belted pads is that when you move (e.g. walk, sit, lie down) they run all over the place... Sanitary belts stay in place, period (pardon the pun!).

You should give it a try at least once in your life to get what I mean.

That's the only advantage I can think of. Seems to be a strong advantage though!

Well, once in a while the adhesive pads get stuck to your skin or hair, but that's rare. Hardly seems a reason to bring back belts. (I wore a belt ONCE, the day my period started when I was twelve, because it was what my mom had in the house to give me, but she went out that day and bought me the adhesive pads.) Still, I guess the more choices the better.

I'm not a teeny bopper, but ick! those things were a real pain. I was so glad when they started putting adhesive on the pads and then they made tampons. now I'm glad I'm done with all that.
