By forgiving yourself for mistakes made in the past and not worrying about what might happen in the future.
We've all met someone who just can't let go of some incident in the past and continually talks about it. That's living in the past.
Those of us who are constantly fretting about the infinate possibilities that lay ahead are living in the future.
Living in the here and now means taking things as the come, with an eye towards the future, but not dwelling on it, and letting go of things past done that we cannot change.

You have to picture in your mind at all times how a child lives life which in in the moment always. They don't worry about what happened an hour ago or what is going to happen 10 minutes from now. Meditation also works pretty good for living here and now.

At the end of each day, I come home, go out into my garden
immediately, sit among the plants, take a few deep breaths,
letting any problems that may have occured slowly dissipate.
I place them metaphorically at my feet, pulling them up until
they exit over my head. This way I find that they're gone the
next day and I can begin a new page. This has worked for
me my whole life. If there's something particularly
challenging that has occured, I stop off at the beach and
release the energy there so that I don't take it home with
me. I've always called it "clearing the brush".

I managed to live by going to work every day and paying my bills and doing my duties as a human being..and not be worried about things I can't control ...actually managing life is easy..but if you think it's hard it's going to be hard..just relax and go with the flow.

It is impossible to live anywhere/time OTHER than here and now. Go ahead, try to live somewhere you are not or at some other time than now...Didn't work, huh?
