Both of them are excellent movies. Watched Forrest Gump last night and own the Shawshank Redemption.

Both movies were awesome... I've only seen Forrest Gump twice but Shawshank i have seen about 10 times and everytime is just as good as the first time!

Shawshank Redemption & Forrest Gump are two of my fav's. What about the Green Mile & Lord of the Rings?

I actually like them both, but if have to choose I would go for "Forrest Gump". Beautiful story and excellent film.
To me "Forrest Gump" is a story about bravery and love whereas "Shawshank Redemption" is more of a story about surviving.

I really liked shawshank redemption. The plot was interesting and different, the characters likable and the setting realistic and compelling. Forrest Gump is my all time most hated film. It was a conservative propaganda campaign that demonized all things liberal. The main character was boring, most of the supporting cast was downright despicable. The plot was unbelievable and irritating and I hated that the liberal characters in the film were punished repeatedly, like Jenny who was a peace loving protester who got aids and died.

I enjoyed "Forrest Gump", and I love its motion picture soundtrack (Forrest Gump Suite). I guess I'm a little biased here since I've not heard of/seen the other one.

The Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite films.
I just find Tom Hanks annoying in Forrest Gump.

I loved The Shawshank Redemption, Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman were classic!
