they got outdated and replaced.. so isn't it about time for the same to happen to Big Oil?

we should use our natural resources until they are gone? ROTFLMAO! How about we find an alternative before that happens...yes, it is about time.

Eventually, yes, but you can't make it happen artificially -- at least not if you want it to net good results for the country. Instead let the market place take care it -- out dated industry will fade away as it is replaced by newer technology. The economy will continue to grow and America will prosper. So the end question is -- are you patriotic enough to support big oil?

I'm not sure I agree with the analogy.
Iron and cotton simply moved locations.
Oil is not here in the first place.
Do I want to replace oil, you bet.

Oil is a natural resource. We should use it until it is gone but continue to research for alternatives.
