I recently found out that carl pavano, yes the carl pavano starting for the yankees today is a free agent in my fantasy league. here is my pitching roster, who would you recommend dropping to pick him up...or should i not pick him up at all?

Johan Santana
Chris Carpenter
Jeremy Bonderman
John Lackey
Joe Nathan
J.J. Putz
Cla Merideth
Chad Cordero
Joe Blanton
Dave Bush
Chuck James
Kei Igawa

I'm thinking about dropping James, but he shows some promise...and will pavano stay healthy?

yet if pavano gets hurt, i can just dl him until he recovers.

NONE keep what you have. Put 0 trust in Pavano he may sprain a finger nail or something and be gone for 6 months.

I think the real Yankees should trade him for a pack of Hot Dogs and Season tickets to the Devil Rays.

Im going to disagree with what some people here are saying, I think Carl Pavano could be a real steal at the bottom of your rotation. Dropping a Cla Meredith (only adds low ERA and WHIP) and adding Pavano should give you a pitcher who if he stays healthy could be dominant. That being said if he struggles hold Pavano on a short leash.

You already have a solid rotation. I don't see Pavano staying healthy and all he's going to do is take up a DL spot on your team.
You have a ton of pitchers - I don't know how your league works, but you could drop Merideth or James and pick up an offensive player for your bench.

Everyone forgets that 2 yrs ago b4 injury got him carl was a cy young candidate. Now that he is finally healthy he deserves a shot. He is playing on the yankee's so he WILL get w's. I would drop cla merideth.

Who is Chuck James? I think Kei Igawa would be a good drop. Pick him up once he gets into the rotation

HOW did you get Johan, Carpenter, Lackey, Nathan AND Cordero? Are there only 2 or 3 teams in your league? LOL or does your hitting suck ***?

if you want to give him a shot then drop Cla Meredith. There's plenty of middle relievers in fantasy baseball.

I don't think you need to risk it. Unless you want to pick him up and try to trade him to someone else who is desperate. Drop Merideth if you do.
