Has anyone here ever used computerised CBT for their depression/anxiety/panic/phobic disorder. It is just that for my uni literature project I am doing a literature review on computerised CBT (e.g. Beating the Blues, FearFighter, MoodGYM, OCFighter) and am looking for people's opinions/views of this kind of therapy. Basically how did you find it? Did you find it useful? Etc.

For Dave yes it can be done and there have been clinical trials demonstrating its efficacy. Furthermore evidence has shown that some people are more likely to disclose more personal issues (such as suicidal tendencies) to a computer program then to a therapist. Not only that but CCBT encourages greater independence. The reason I have asked this question is because CCBT is not for everyone, hence why I am asking people (who have used it) for their opinions, because part of my review is discuss various peoples experience of using the program. I don't even think you know what CBT is so I don't know why you have bothered answering my question. Even face to face CBT it is not about talking about ones problems - it is about taking action to change negative thoughts and thus their behaviour. Therefore much of the therapy in CBT is about people doing 'homework' outside of the therapy sessions!!
