Hi I bought a beautiful blue fish with 2 long fins and a long tail. In Hebrew it is called a battle fish because it cannot live with other fish except guppies. Can anyone tell me the name of this fish in English, I would like to avoid its near death as with the other goldfish. Thanks

Betta splendens - common name is betta, or Siamese fighting fish. Bettas will not do well especially with goldfish because goldfish are coldwater fish, and bettas are tropical and need water that is 78-82 degrees F.

i think you have a siamese fighting fish there or in latin Betta Splendens, never keep 2 males together as they will fight to the death,it's ok to keep it with other peaceful fish aside from guppies and they do come in a variety of colors.

beta. Don't put it with the gold fish. the gold fish gives off way to many toxins and will kill your beta.
