Yes, and I have the pictures to prove it! When I was one-year-old, my birthday was on Easter, and I was really dolled up in a red velvet dress, with paten leather shoes, whilte gloves, and a big hat.

We didn't have much money either, but all 7 kids got new outfits at Easter. I hated those frilly dresses ! Didn't get the gloves, but I remember those patent leather shoes. My evil big sister once told me people could see the reflection of your underwear in the shiny patent ! I believed her, and used to walk with my dress tucked between my knees !

Oh yes. . .my mom always made me wear the frilly dress and such for Easter. Honestly, I hated it. I was (and still am) such a tom boy that I couldn't stand to be in a dress. Still, at least I had the satisfaction of getting grass stains all over those paten leather shoes. ;-)

I didn't have the gloves, hat, and purse but I did have the frilly dress. I was always a little tom-boy (I was mainly raised by my father) so I HATED those little dresses.

Yes for special occasions and church events. We had the frilliest, laciest socks my mom could find and those shiny, square toed patent leather shoes. We had ribbons in our hair and white gloves with the lace around the wrist. I felt like a freakin birthday cupcake!

Good grief, yes!
Silly poofy dresses, with silly poofy hats, and black patent mary janes, cutsey little pocketbooks, and the white gloves AND a new stuffed bunny I carried around like a good little dweeb!
(Did not do this with my daughter. I dressed her beautifully, without the silly details)

hehe... my parents used to dress me like a princess all the time when I was little, and I had many princess-like dresses, a lot of them pink and lots of them frilly. I don't think it was such a bad memory. Now my choice of colour has become violet rather than pink.

No we never got a new dress, there were 5 girls and we had spring clothes but mostly they were hand me downs. We each had a pretty dress and shoes for our first communion's. I had a headband and my sister got veils. If I have a daughter you know for sure she'll be a pampered princess for sure!!

Yes...we got new dresses, shoes, a hat, purse, globes little panty hose....a very special time. My girls also had special dresses. My daughter told me recently that she hated that dress! Too bad, they really looked sweet!
