We have 2 goldfish in a 40 x 20 cm tank. They were recently brought home by my daughter who won them at a fair. One is long finned, the other is your plain, everyday goldfish. Both are quite small (about 4-5 cm in length). We've decked out their tank with various pebbles, shells and stones to make it interesting for them, but it's not a proper tank with filters etc. so it gets pretty smelly quite quickly and needs water changes very often.
We have a kind of shallow well in the garden, not very deep, about 2 metres from top ground level to water surface, with about 1 metre of pure, clear, underground,up-filtering water constantly present. At the moment it's inhabited by 2 frogs which fell in there about 3 years ago and have now grown quite large and seem happy in their environment. They obviously survive on mosquito larvea and other water borne life to have survived and grown this long.
Can I add my goldfish in there or could they be indangered by the frogs? And do we need to feed them

Sounds like a wonderful move for them!
Be sure not to just dump them into the well. If youcan reach the water be sure to "Float your fish so they can be acclimated to the water. you may want to start when changing their water now, adding their new well water. Since you won't need to treat the well water this is a good way to acclimate them.
I hope you are not drawing water from this backyard well are you? Also as was mentioned, I don't know how large your frogs are, but it seems your fish will be safe.
Snakes are the only other bother you may have. I think they will like their new home!

Well, when I was a kid my dad got me and my sister some goldfish from the fair. He set up the tank, and then tired of it within a few months. Rather then flushing them, which is usually the sort of thing he would do, he dropped them in our swimming pool. The pool was coming down the next summer, so he figured it wouldn't hurt anything to have them in there. He was right. We live in Indiana and have some very cold winters, but the fish survived under the ice in the pool and were huge when spring came. We also had a lot more than we had started with. You didn't say where you lived, but as long as the water isn't going to freeze solid they should do just fine in there. You could also put in a heater if necessary, and if you think they are too small to be in there with the frogs, wait a bit and let the fish grow. A larger filtered tank kit is inexpensive at a supercenter or pet store.

Most likely the frogs will consume the goldfish. We recommend at least 2 gallons of filtered water per goldfish, no matter what type. Sounds like the goldfish would do fine outside if you could find a new home for the frogs. Goldfish will also eat mosquito larvae and plants like horn wort.

Sounds like they would be fine out there as long as they are not so small that the frogs will eat them. Goldfish do well in an outdoor environment. You will want to feed them a bit from time to time though as they many require more than the frogs leave for them to eat. Here's a link to a site with loads of info on keeping goldfish in ponds.

Hope that helps

Put the goldfish in, and if the frogs try to harm them in anyway, put them in seperate tanks.

They should be fine outside, but if you chose to keep them indoors you may want to purchase a small bottle of tap water conditioner. It will remove the chlorine and heavy metals. Unfortunately, fishies from the fair may not have been properly cared for in the first place.....so good luck to you!

Too much detail!
Your big frogs will eat the goldfish as soon as they can catch them.

If the frogs are very large, like bullfrogs, they will eat your goldfish. Bullfrogs even eat birds. If they're small, your goldfish will be find. You probably will need to still feed them.
